Mauricio Ruffy continues his quest for improvement before his UFC Casa Branca bout , scheduled for June 14th. The former Fighting Nerds member is slated to face Michael Chandler on the special event card, and to confirm his status as favorite and have his arm raised against the veteran, he trained alongside Paulo Borrachinha.

In a post on Paulo Borrachinha 's social media , Mauricio Ruffy appeared alongside the Minas Gerais native in a post-training photo at the 'Bruno Dias BJJ' academy in Florida.

Before Pablo Sucupira announced Mauricio Ruffy 's departure from the Fighting Nerds team, the fighter had already been part of his training camp for UFC 325 in Australia with Alexander Volkanovski 's team.

Now, no longer part of the Paulista team, Ruffy continues his pursuit of knowledge while preparing to face Michael Chandler . In his journey, the Alagoas native trained alongside Alex Poatan at Plinio Cruz's academy in New Jersey, with Lyoto Machida in Florida, and now with Paulo Borrachinha.

Before leaving Fighting Nerds, Mauricio Ruffy stirred things up behind the scenes due to his close relationship with Alexander Volkanovski , who was being targeted by his then training partner, Jean Silva , who was aiming for the featherweight title (up to 65,7kg).

Although Paulo Borrachinha and Caio Borralho have never shared the octagon, or even come close to facing each other, the Brazilians have exchanged several provocations on social media, with the Minas Gerais native accusing the nerd of being irrelevant in the middleweight division (up to 83,9kg) and citing this as the reason for not facing him in the UFC.
