Alessandro Costa arrives with extra motivation for UFC Vegas 118 , scheduled for next Saturday (6). Representing Mexico in the Ultimate, the Brazilian faces Matt Schnell in the fight that closes the preliminary card and sees the confrontation as another great opportunity to earn a performance bonus, something that has already become a trademark in his career in the organization, with three awards in three victories.
In an interview with SUPER LUTAS , the athlete highlighted that the increase in bonus values, which went from $50 (approximately R$275) to $100 (approximately R$550), further boosted the fighters' motivation. According to Alessandro, the possibility of winning this amount directly impacts their quality of life, and that's why he always enters the octagon focused on attracting attention.

“Now the bonuses have changed, right? Before it was 50, now it’s 100. I think that’s something that has motivated the athletes a lot. The bonus changes your life, right? You can have a better life with 100 dollars… Whenever I fight, I’m thinking about the bonus. I always fight thinking about whether I’m going to pull off a spectacular submission, to make some noise and be able to walk away with that bonus,” said Alessandro Costa.
The Brazilian also recalled his last victory, achieved with a liver blow that resonated with fans, and pointed to this type of outcome as the ideal way to continue accumulating awards.
“My last fight involved a liver strike, which caught the public's attention. So I think that's the path to getting bonuses. And in my three UFC wins, I received bonuses in all three. So now I don't think differently, it's the same mentality. We ( Diego Lopes and I ) adopted this style from the beginning. I think it helps us a lot. It was a perfect fit. This is the type of fighter the UFC is also looking for,” concluded the Brazilian.
Alessandro Costa has already received over R$1 million in bonuses from the UFC.
With three wins in three fights in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), Alessandro Costa has three knockouts in the world's largest MMA organization. In addition to his strong performance, all victories earned the Brazilian performance bonuses: approximately R$ 275 in the fights against Jimmy Flick and Kevin Borjas , and approximately R$ 550 in his most recent victory against Stewart Nicoll . In total, the athlete has already accumulated around R$ 1,1 million in extra prize money.
If he wins another bonus at UFC Vegas 118 , the 30-year-old fighter could reach approximately R$ 1,65 million earned in bonuses alone from the organization.
