Alessandro Costa shows no concern about accepting a last-minute duel at UFC Vegas 118 , scheduled for next Saturday (6). The Brazilian, who represents Mexico in the organization, faces Matt Schnell in the fight that closes the preliminary card of the event. Despite having only 10 days of preparation, he guarantees that he already knows his rival well and was in good physical shape, as he took advantage of Diego Lopes ' camp , who will be in action at UFC Casa Branca , on June 14.
In an exclusive interview with SUPER LUTAS , Alessandro detailed his short preparation for the fight and explained how the opportunity arose. The fighter recalled that the fight had been previously scheduled but was canceled due to an injury, a factor that facilitated the signing of the contract, since he would be facing a familiar opponent.

“This fight against Matt Schnell was supposed to have happened two years ago. But unfortunately, I got injured a week before the fight. So I had already set up a strategy to be able to fight him. And now, ten days ago, my manager called me about this opportunity and I didn't think about turning down this fight,” revealed Alessandro.
Besides already knowing Matt Schnell , Alessandro Costa points to another decisive factor in accepting the fight: his good physical condition. The Brazilian, who fought at UFC Vegas 115 in April, assures that he maintained his training rhythm and was prepared, since he participated in the preparation of his teammate, Diego Lopes , who will fight a week later.
“But I was already training, I fought here two months ago too. I won. So I’m excited to come away with another victory… We were also training for Diego’s camp. He’s going to fight on June 14th, a week after my fight. So, I’m always training, I’m always prepared in a certain way. It’s a fight I wanted in the future and now it’s going to happen,” the Manaus native concluded.
