The first athlete to win at UFC Vegas 118 on Saturday night (6), Keten Esquentadinha put on a show by knocking out her compatriot Ariane Sorriso with a perfect head kick in the first round. The result guaranteed the second consecutive victory for the Manaus native in the strawweight category (up to 52,1 kg). In addition to the obvious benefit of getting another win on her record, the triumph also evened the head-to-head record between the two, since Carnelossi beat her in 2019.

The two fighters started the fight with different approaches. Sorriso tried to corner her opponent against the cage in the first few seconds, attacking the waistline and working quick combinations of punches. After acclimating to the nature of the fight, Ketlen began to attack with strong blows, until she took her opponent to the ground with a strong right cross, followed by a head kick that knocked the Paulista fighter out.
