Gabriel Marretinha will not forget UFC Vegas 118 anytime soon. In the main event held this Saturday (6), the Brazilian dominated Belal Muhammad for five rounds and won by unanimous decision. With the impressive victory against the former champion, the most important of his career, the athlete will go from 11th place in the welterweight ranking (up to 77,1 kg) directly to fifth place and enters the fight to compete for the title.

The five-round fight followed a similar pattern. Bigger, younger, and faster, Marretinha punished Belal with his low kicks and jabs. His most dominant moment came in the third round, when the Brazilian rocked the former champion more than once with his straight punches. The athlete's superiority was so great that the veteran even lost his mouthguard.
