Mauricio Ruffy sees himself as an improved version of Conor McGregor . Since his UFC octagon debut, the Brazilian has frequently been compared to the Irishman due to his fighting style. However, in the view of the former Fighting Nerds team member, there is a specific aspect that makes him even more dangerous than 'The Notorious'.
In an interview with 'UFC on Paramount', Ruffy acknowledged McGregor's impact on the sport and stated that he feels honored by the comparisons. However, he emphasized that he has a greater capacity for fight management in his own game, especially in moments when a knockout doesn't happen.

“I think that, as a fighter, he brought something completely new to the sport, so for me it’s a privilege to be compared to his fighting style. But there were some things he didn’t have. He didn’t really know how to manage the fight if he couldn’t get the knockout. I believe I added that extra layer to my game,” said Mauricio Ruffy.
With two knockouts in three wins in the Ultimate, Maurício Ruffy returns to action at UFC Casa Branca , scheduled for next Sunday (14), when he faces Michael Chandler.
