Caio Borralho will have to postpone his return to the Ultimate Fighting Championship octagon. The Brazilian was scheduled to face Joe Pyfer at UFC 330 , set for August 15th, but an injury sustained during his preparation for the fight against Reinier de Ridder in March has resurfaced. Due to the worsening of the problem, the fighter needed surgery.
In a social media post, Borralho explained that he suffered a rib fracture two weeks before facing Reinier de Ridder , managed to compete and win , but did not recover as expected afterward. According to the nerd, in addition to not healing, the injury began to pose a risk of more serious complications, which led to the need for surgery, which was successfully performed.

“As you know, I fractured my rib 2 weeks before the fight against RDR. Everything went well, I fought, won, and continued my recovery. A rib fracture is basically a matter of waiting for it to 'heal' and then returning to training. Unfortunately, the rib didn't heal and the displacement was dangerous, potentially causing lung perforation, etc., so we had to resort to surgery. It was a success, and now I have bionic ribs,” wrote Caio Borralho.
The Brazilian also confirmed that the fight against Joe Pyfer , scheduled for UFC 330 , has been canceled. Despite the frustration, he assured that he remains focused on the recovery and physiotherapy process, with the goal of returning to the octagon as soon as possible in full physical condition.
"Unfortunately, the fight at UFC 330 with my friend Joe Pyfer won't happen. I hope to be back soon and able to do what I love in the UFC. I'm continuing my recovery and physical therapy, focused on getting my body 100% and I'll be back soon!", concluded the nerd.
