Max Holloway is willing to "lower the level" and match Conor McGregor if necessary. The Hawaiian faces the Irishman in the main event of UFC 329 , scheduled for July 11, and, knowing his rival's history of provocations, made it clear that he does not intend to back down if "The Notorious" starts a verbal war.

On his YouTube channel, Holloway adopted a direct tone when discussing the fight. According to him, regardless of speculation about McGregor's preparation, the duel is confirmed and should happen. The former champion acknowledged his rival's talent for provocation, but indicated that he could respond in kind if provoked.

A lot of people are saying that Conor might not show up, or even if he's training, but he seems very dedicated from everything he's been posting… Conor McGregor is Conor McGregor . I think he'll be respectful to a certain extent, but the guy has a way with words. So, if he starts talking, you might even see a bit of the kid from 'Waianae' come out of me. If you want to talk trash, I love that too, I just don't do it very often. But if he wants to go down that road, I'm in,” said Max Holloway.
