Alex Poatan wants to keep the heavyweight division (up to 120,2 kg) moving if he wins at UFC Casa Branca , scheduled for next Sunday (14). Scheduled for the co-main event, the Brazilian faces Ciryl Gane for the interim belt in the category and has already sent a message to future challengers.
In an interview with Ariel Helwani, the Brazilian reiterated his desire to fight again as soon as possible after the bout. Poatan indicated uncertainty about the preparation of names like Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall , and stated that both, as well as other heavyweights, should intensify their training immediately.
“I want to fight as soon as possible after this fight. Jon Jones , I don’t know if he’s training. Aspinall, maybe he’s not ready. These guys should be training now because, as soon as this fight is over, I want to fight as soon as possible,” said Poatan.
Alex Poatan also highlighted that, without the need for lengthy promotional processes involving numbered events, he intends to pressure the UFC for an immediate new opportunity, provided he emerges victorious and injury-free.
“I don’t think any of them will be ready. Now, we know there’s no longer the whole process of building a fight because there are no more PPVs involved. To all the heavyweights, I’m being nice. I’m just warning you: get ready. Start training because, as soon as this fight is over, if I win and I’m healthy, I’m going to pressure the UFC to give me another fight immediately,” concluded the Pataxó fighter.

Brazil will be represented at UFC Casa Branca . In the co-main event, Alex Poatan attempts an unprecedented feat. The former middleweight (up to 83,9 kg) and light heavyweight (up to 93 kg) champion is seeking the interim heavyweight (up to 120 kg) title against Frenchman Ciryl Gane.
Besides Poatan, Mauricio Ruffy and Diego Lopes are the other Brazilian athletes on the card. They face Michael Chandler and Steve Garcia , respectively.
