Former middleweight (up to 83,9 kg) and light heavyweight (up to 93 kg) champion, Poatan participated in the UFC Media Day and was asked about soccer and the competition that will be held from June 11th in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. Despite admitting that he doesn't follow the sport closely, the São Paulo native made it clear that he will be rooting for Brazil.

"I don't follow soccer, so I know Brazil will be there and I want them to become champions," said the two-time UFC champion.
