Alex Poatan has the chance to make history at UFC Casa Branca , scheduled for next Sunday (14). Before getting into action, however, the Brazilian needed to go through the official weigh-in. Scheduled for the co-main event, the Pataxó, former middleweight (up to 83,9 kg) and light heavyweight (up to 93 kg) champion, could win the interim heavyweight belt (up to 120,2 kg). To do so, he will have to overcome Ciryl Gane , who is making his fourth attempt to reach the title in the category.

With 13 wins and three losses in his professional career, Poatan was one of the last athletes to step on the scale and registered 113,8 kg. Ciryl Gane , who has a similar record of 13 wins, two losses and one no contest, weighed in at 112,4 kg, officially confirming the co-main event fight.

In the main event, Ilia Topuria defends his lightweight title (up to 70,3 kg) against Justin Gaethje . The Spaniard weighed in exactly at the category limit, at 70,3 kg, while the American also weighed in at the same weight, officially confirming the title fight.

Brazilians do well at the weigh-in.

Scheduled for the opening fight of the event, Diego Lopes needed the one-pound allowance to confirm his bout against Steve Garcia , weighing in at 66,2 kg. Meanwhile, Maurício Ruffy, even without needing to, reached the lightweight title weight limit, registering 70,3 kg.

After all the athletes went through the weigh-in, Diego Lopes was announced to return to the scale to weigh in as the replacement for Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje in the main event for the lightweight title (up to 70,3 kg). The Brazilian, who represents Mexico in the UFC, weighed in at 69,8 kg.
