Diego Lopes showed why he's known as 'El Brabo' inside the octagon. The Brazilian, scheduled to face Steve Garcia in a featherweight bout (up to 65,7 kg) at UFC Casa Branca , drew attention at the official weigh-in by stepping on the scale twice. Besides confirming his fight in the category, he also weighed in for the lightweight division (up to 70,3 kg), positioning himself as a possible reserve for the main event.

In a video published by UFC Brazil, Diego Lopes explained that the decision stemmed from his constant willingness to seek challenges. After it was confirmed that Arman Tsarukyan would not participate in the event, his team contacted the organization to offer themselves as a backup option.

“The guys already know what I'm like, I always like challenges, and when we found out that Arman wasn't coming, we asked Hunter: 'Can we offer to be the backup?' He said: 'Oh, sure, if you want to weigh in twice, there's no problem.' So we ended up weighing in twice, hydrating, and hitting the weight at 65,7kg, let's fight! And now we're going, we also weighed in at 70,3kg and we're ready for anything that happens, we'll be there,” said Diego Lopes.
