Despite being a high-level striker, Alex Poatan is not immune to striking and found it difficult to deal with Ciryl Gane in that area. In the co-main event of UFC Casa Branca , a high-profile event held this Sunday (14), in Washington (USA), the Brazilian debuted in the heavyweight division (up to 120 kg) in the worst possible way. In search of becoming the first three-time champion in the company's history, the athlete was brutally knocked out by the Frenchman in the second round.

In the first round, Poatan posed a threat with his high kicks, but Gane, alert and much faster, also had his moments. Sharp with his hands, the Frenchman landed powerful punches on the Brazilian, rocking him. If 'Bon Gamin' performed well in the first five minutes, he shone in the second round.

Without respecting the renowned striker, Gane imposed himself and ignored his advances. Confident in his knockout power, the Frenchman rocked Poatan more than once with his straight punches and crosses, causing him to fall. Tenacious, the Brazilian didn't give up and resisted as best he could, but the effort was in vain. Sensing the 'smell of blood' in the octagon, 'Bon Gamin' went all out on the attack and delivered a brutal sequence of punches to the veteran, only stopping when the referee interrupted the fight. With the victory, Gane won the interim heavyweight title for the second time in his career.
