Ciryl Gane defeated Alex Poatan and, by all indications, may already have his next fight lined up in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. The Frenchman overcame the Brazilian in the co-main event of UFC Casa Branca , held this Sunday (14), and won the interim heavyweight title (up to 120,2 kg). After the fight, the 'Good Boy' expressed interest in returning to the octagon at UFC Paris , scheduled for September, a possibility that excited the division's undisputed champion, Tom Aspinall.
In a video posted to his YouTube channel, Aspinall reacted to Gane's post-fight interview and expressed enthusiasm about the idea of facing Gane in the French capital, indicating that he is willing to accept the fight and stating that he would attend the event if the duel is made official.
"Paris in September? I'm in, let me know. I'll be there," said Tom Aspinall.

In a title fight for the division, Tom Aspinall and Ciryl Gane faced off in the octagon at UFC 321 in October 2025. The fight was stopped in the first round after an illegal strike: a finger poke to the eye delivered by the Frenchman.
Unable to see, the Briton was forced to abandon the fight, which ended without an official result. Since then, uncertainty remains about his return to the octagon after undergoing surgery.

Inside the octagon, Alex Poatan was unable to replicate the performance that made him famous in the middleweight (up to 83,9 kg) and light heavyweight (up to 93 kg) categories. Against Ciryl Gane , the Brazilian struggled to find his range and ended up being dominated by the Frenchman's movement.
In the second round, Poatan was hit by a precise jab that sent him to the ground. Gane then connected with powerful elbows, forcing a stoppage and securing a technical knockout victory.
