Alexander Volkanovski experienced a mix of emotions while closely following Mauricio Ruffy 's crushing defeat of Michael Chandler at UFC Casa Branca , held last Sunday (14). Present in the Brazilian's corner, the Australian witnessed the knockout in the first round, an outcome that, despite the excitement for his athlete's victory, also brought some discomfort given the opponent's situation.
In an interview with 'Bussin With The Boys', Volkanovski revealed that he was conflicted after the result. The former champion highlighted his personal admiration for Chandler, whom he considers one of the best people he has ever met, while also celebrating Luffy's performance.

“I was feeling a little bad because he (Chandler) is the best guy I’ve ever met. Obviously I was very happy for Luffy, and at that moment I was more excited, but feeling bad at the same time. Because I knew this was going to happen… Stylistically, I like Chandler, but Luffy is so much better,” said Volkanovski.
