After months of waiting, a date has finally been set for Islam Makhachev 's return to the world's most famous octagon. The world welterweight champion (up to 77,1kg) will attempt to defend his crown for the first time in the main event of UFC 330 on August 15th in Philadelphia. The world's top-ranked pound-for-pound fighter will face Irishman Ian Garry , who is coming off victories against Carlos Prates and Belal Muhammad.

The announcement was made officially by the Ultimate's own profile on Wednesday afternoon (17). In addition to the last fight of the night, Brazilian Mackenzie Dern will also put her strawweight title (up to 52,1 kg) on the line for the first time against Gillian Robertson in the co-main event.

Islam Makhachev is one of the best fighters in the world.
Having not known defeat for over a decade, Islam Makhachev became the welterweight champion (up to 77,1 kg) last November when he defeated Jack Della Maddalena by unanimous decision at Madison Square Garden. The victory not only secured him his second title but also allowed the Russian to equal Anderson Silva's historic record of 16 consecutive wins in the world's biggest MMA event.
Garry is also having a great moment. With only one defeat, suffered against Shavkat Rakhmonov , "The Future" has the opportunity to turn his nickname into reality if he manages to dethrone the Russian.
