Alexander Volkanovski has decided to side with Alex Poatan in the controversy involving Herb Dean. The Brazilian faced Ciryl Gane at UFC Casa Branca , held on June 14th, but ended up defeated after a series of blows he considered illegal. Unhappy with the outcome, the Pataxó fighter blamed the referee for not stopping the fight, a criticism with which the Australian champion seems to agree.
In a video posted on his YouTube channel, Volkanovski stated that Herb Dean should have been more forceful during the fight and indicated that there were several blows to the back of Poatan's head.

“Herb, I love you, but you should have been more vocal… I don’t want to cast shadows on people, but there were a lot of backstabbing incidents. If it were someone I didn’t like doing this, I’d probably be much clearer about how I’m saying this. We need to have this discussion, and we are having this discussion. Pereira is asking people to talk about it, and here I am,” said Volkanovski.
