The leader of Fighting Nerds claims he refused to help Ciryl Gane in his fight against Poatan.

In an interview with Connect Cast, Pablo Sucupira revealed that the request came from Gane through an intermediary, with the intention of training at Fighting Nerds before the fight. The team leader explained that he consulted Alex Poatán, who did not object to the possibility. Even so, Sucupira chose not to authorize the Frenchman's presence, emphasizing his relationship of friendship and loyalty with the Brazilian.

“Look how funny, through a friend of his, he asked if he could come train with us (at Fighting Nerds) before the fight. I called Alex and he said: 'No, Pablão, if you want, I won't be there and I know your gym has a lot of people coming and going. If you want him to come, it's no problem.' And I said: 'No, I'm your fan and I'm your friend.' So I didn't allow it,” said Pablo Sucupira.

Sucupira also emphasized that he maintains respect and gratitude for Gane and his team, recalling the reception he received when he was in France. Despite this, he reiterated that, in that specific situation, it would not have been possible to open the academy's doors to his opponent.

“I thanked Gane a lot, because there was also the thing about when we went to France and arrived at the academy. So I also have gratitude for the guys and I even have to reciprocate, but, in this situation, there's no way I can receive you here,” concluded the leader of Fighting Nerds.
