Shara Magomedov needed to overcome difficult times to win Michael Pereira No. UFC Baku, held last Saturday (27). The Russian faced the Brazilian in the co-main event and was close to being knocked out early on, after a strong sequence from the 'Flying Paraense'. Despite the scare, he managed to recover, turn the fight around and secure the victory by judges' decision.
In the post-event press conference, Shara explained that she entered the octagon prepared to withstand any adversity and did not let herself be shaken even after missing a right punch and being at a disadvantage in the early moments.

“I went in there knowing he would have to kill me to get me out of there. I was ready to die in that octagon. I missed that right hand, I was expecting that right hand, I wanted to hit him with it, but I ended up missing. But I didn't get discouraged, I was on the bottom and working my strikes,” he said. Shara Magomedov.
The fighter highlighted that he remained calm, continued working his strikes from the bottom, and took advantage of 'Chechel's' aggressiveness, who believed he was close to a knockout, to reverse the situation and capitalize in his favor throughout the fight.
“I was trying to catch him, trying to capitalize on that because I saw that he came at me, thought he was going to finish me, smelled blood in the water, wanted to use that to end the fight, and I wanted to use that in the opposite way. I wanted to make sure I could catch him and take advantage of that situation,” concluded Pirata.
