Aline Pereira will face a great challenge at Karate Combate 62. The younger sister of Alex Poatan will defend her flyweight title (up to 56,7 kg) at the event scheduled for July 24th in Miami, against former Bellator fighter and fellow Brazilian, Juliana Velasquez.
Riding a two-fight winning streak, Aline boasts a record of three wins and two losses. However, under Karate Combate rules, the Brazilian remains undefeated with two knockouts and a unanimous decision victory when she won the organization's belt.

Velasquez, for her part, has a career record of 14 wins and four losses in MMA. Having fought in Bellator and the PFL, the 39-year-old Brazilian is making her Karate Combat debut.
Aline Pereira participated in Netflix's first MMA event.
Aline Pereira defeated Jade Masson-Wong by split decision in a catchweight bout (up to 58,9 kg) at the first MMA event streamed on Netflix. The Brazilian, sister of Alex 'Poatan', fought a balanced fight and prevailed on the scorecards after withstanding pressure in the final moments.
Aline relied on long-range kicks, while Jade pressured at close range. The most critical moment came at the end of the second round when Masson-Wong managed a takedown, but the Brazilian got back up before the bell. In the third round, Jade was superior, however, despite the close fight, the judges scored it 29-28, 27-30 and 29-28 for Aline.
