Our first stop on the list is one of the most memorable moments of the last decade. After defending the middleweight title (up to 83,9 kg) ten times and becoming one of the best fighters in the history of the sport, the reign of the legendary Anderson Silva ended on July 6, 2013, when he was brutally knocked out by Chris Weidman in the second round of the main event of UFC 162, in a duel remembered for the Spider 's exaggerated provocations.
To crown the tragic scenario, the Brazilian would lose the rematch a few months later, this time with a terrible fracture in his left leg, which kept him out for almost a year and definitively ended the fighter's peak in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

The two faced off in the main event of UFC 194, in a confrontation full of rivalry. It took only 13 seconds for the Irishman to extinguish the lights on the King of Rio and end a decade of invincibility. Despite the popular appeal and especially Aldo's, the two never faced each other again.

The UFC's most populous division was taken by storm by Charles Oliveira shortly after Khabib Nurmagomedov 's retirement . Despite losing the lightweight title (up to 70,3 kg) for failing to make weight before submitting Justin Gaethje , the Brazilian landed in Abu Dhabi in October 2022 being seen as the rightful champion, while Islam Makhachev tried to bring the crown back to Dagestan.
Despite all the anticipation for the duel, the reality is that the Russian dominated from the start of the fight, finishing with a katagatame in the second round. They were even scheduled for a rematch at UFC 294 , but the Brazilian was forced to withdraw after suffering a cut on his forehead during training a week before the bout.

Although it's the most recent, Alex Poatan 's defeat to Ciryl Gane at UFC Casa Branca is far from less painful. Seeking his unprecedented third belt, the Pataxó Indian was knocked out in the second round by the Frenchman after being hit by a jab to the chin. The fight also featured a strong dose of controversy due to the Paulista fighter being hit by illegal blows to the back of the head, which generated harsh criticism of referee Herb Dean.
