One of the most popular names in European MMA, Paddy Pimblett returns to the world's most famous octagon this Saturday (11) against Benoit Saint-Denis , another prospect in the lightweight division (up to 70,3 kg). The A-side of the co-main event at UFC 329 , the Briton is eyeing the possibility of facing Conor McGregor , who returns from a five-year hiatus and faces Max Holloway in the last event of the night.

El Malvado spoke about the matter in an interview with the UFC itself during the final phase of his preparation. Despite preaching caution and making it clear that the results of this weekend will define the future, he made himself available to face El Notório even outside of his natural weight class.

“The perfect fight for me would be Conor (McGregor). It’s crazy to be on the same card as Conor McGregor . It’s probably going to be the most-watched UFC event in history. If McGregor wins and I win, I want to fight again before the end of the year. Could I fight him at Madison Square Garden in the welterweight division? We need to see what happens,” he stated.

According to him, the setback in the fight against Justin Gaethje helped the public's perception of him, even though it wasn't a victory. The two faced off for the interim lightweight title (up to 70,3 kg), with the American winning by unanimous decision. More recently, Destaque shocked the world by ending Ilia Topuria 's undefeated streak right in the White House.

“I won seven fights in a row, but I don’t think my stock went up that much compared to the loss in my last fight. I beat names like Michael Chandler , Bobby Green , and Tony Ferguson , but I got my head pounded for five rounds and my stock went up. It went up because I had a five-round war with a legend like Justin Gaethje ,” he concluded.
