Leader of one of the world's leading academies, Pablo Sucupira had a very happy night last Wednesday (8) with the victories of Jean Silva and Maurício Ruffy at the 'World MMA Awards', an award promoted by the American magazine 'Fighters Only' and seen as the Oscars of MMA. While the former team member stood out with the beautiful knockout against King Green , Lord went home as the winner of the Submission of the Year, achieved in the victory against Bryce Mitchell at UFC 314 , in April last year. Excited, the head coach took the opportunity to send a message to the critics.
Through his Instagram stories , Pablo posted a video of Jean going on stage to receive the award. He congratulated the athlete and coach Flávio Álvaro on the achievement and also reminded his followers that, despite excelling in striking, his academy also has great talent in grappling.

On that occasion, Jean showed no respect for Mitchell and went after the American, causing him significant damage on his feet, before taking advantage of a failed takedown attempt to lock in a precise choke. The hold rendered his opponent unconscious and created a memorable moment during the Brazilian's celebration, as he barked in his opponent's face.
