Demian Pinas knocks out Cesar Almeida in the final moments of the first round.
The fighters started by keeping the fight at mid-range, relying on low kicks. At one point, Demian capitalized on a kick from the Brazilian to the midsection, grabbed his leg, and secured a takedown. However, Cesar Almeida reacted quickly, reversed the position, and ended up on top before the fight returned to striking.
Cesinha again closed the distance with body shots, but was surprised by a simultaneous left cross from the Surinamese fighter. The Brazilian continued to rely on straight punches to the body, mixing in kicks and combinations to the head, while Pinas sought to respond with counter-attacks.
In the final stretch of the round, Demian Pinas blocked a kick from Cesar Almeida and landed a powerful straight punch that knocked the Brazilian down. With Cesar already down and unconscious, the Surinamese fighter demonstrated sportsmanship by not throwing any further strikes, simply waiting for the referee to stop the fight.
