Carlos Prates took advantage of Conor McGregor 's defeat at UFC 329 , held last Saturday (11), in Las Vegas (USA), to provoke the Irish star on social media. A member of the Fighting Nerds team, the Brazilian recalled that a possible confrontation between the two had been speculated and reiterated that the former champion refused to face him, a version that was never confirmed by 'Notorious' himself.
In a post on his Instagram stories, Prates didn't hold back on the taunts when commenting on the Irishman's defeat to Max Holloway . McGregor suffered a serious knee injury in the opening minutes of the main fight and ended up losing by technical knockout.

“If I catch him, I’ll kill him with extreme cruelty. You did well not to accept the fight against me, McChicken. You’ve already made your legacy, now sit back and watch. And never cut your hair like that again,” wrote the Brazilian.
The possibility of a duel between the two gained momentum in recent months, when Prates publicly revealed his interest in facing McGregor. At the time, the fighter stated that he had received information that the Irishman had refused the offer, although the former featherweight (up to 65,7 kg) and lightweight (up to 70,3 kg) champion never confirmed the statement.
While 'Notorious' is experiencing another uncertain moment in his career after the serious injury suffered at UFC 329 , Carlos Prates continues his rapid rise in the UFC, buoyed by knockout victories over Geoff Neal , Leon Edwards , and Jack Della Maddalena . Considered one of the main representatives of Fighting Nerds, the Brazilian is seeking a title shot in the division.
