Enjoying a great phase in his career, Valter Walker is one of Brazil's highlights at UFC Abu Dhabi . At the event taking place this Saturday (25), Johnny Walker 's brother faces Thomas Petersen in search of entering the top-10 of the heavyweight division (up to 120,2 kg). And, if it depends on the athlete, the victory will come in an impressive way.
In an interview with UFC Brazil, Valter exuded so much confidence that he revealed he plans to surprise not only the American, but also the fans in the octagon. Known for his high-level jiu-jitsu, the Brazilian is riding a four-fight winning streak, all by heel hook. However, the promising athlete sees Petersen as the ideal opportunity to show that his game goes beyond that and that he's not just a 'foot hunter'.

“ I’m training two positions for this fight that, if I manage to execute them, will be surreal , just like the one I used on Nzechukwu. I’m going to face Peterson, who’s a guy with good stamina. He’ll be tired, but he’ll smother the opponent, he can put him against the cage, pressure him, make his opponent get tired before he does. He gets tired, but he manages to take it to the end of the fight,” said the fighter.
“His wins are by decision, controlling his opponent against the cage or from top position. So, his ground and pound is quite solid. My plan is not to take it to the ground, not to catch his foot . I'm not planning on that . I think he's a good opponent for me to gain experience in the cage in the striking aspect . However, if he gives me an opening, then I'll have to catch his foot,” he concluded.
