UFC veteran reports receiving death threats before his fight with the 'Mbappé of MMA' and promises a knockout.

Dan Hooker will face newcomer Salahdine Parnasse in the main event of UFC Paris , scheduled for September 5th, and revealed he has been receiving death threats on social media before the fight. The duel will be valid for the lightweight division (up to 70,3 kg) and will pit the experience of the New Zealander against one of the biggest promises of French MMA. Known as the "Kylian Mbappé of MMA ," the young fighter arrives at the event surrounded by expectation for his debut in the organization.

In an interview with Submission Radio, the Australian revealed that he was surprised by the reaction of some French fans before the fight and criticized the messages he received on social media. Hooker stated that the threats will not change his preparation and promised to use the rivalry as motivation to beat Parnasse.

“The death threats are absurd. I didn’t receive any when I fought against BSD. The French are talking and telling me I’m going to die. Whoever these son of a bitch’s fans are, they’re outrageous. It’s going to be great to turn off the lights on this kid,” revealed Dan Hooker.

Despite the rivalry, the veteran arrives at the fight trying to break a losing streak. The 36-year-old New Zealander has a professional record of 24 wins and 14 losses and is coming off two consecutive defeats, to Arman Tsarukyan by submission and Benoit Saint Denis by technical knockout.

Before the losing streak, "The Hangman" had beaten names like Mateusz Gamrot and Jalin Turner and remains one of the most experienced athletes in his category's ranking.

On the other side, Salahdine Parnasse arrives at the UFC surrounded by expectation. The 28-year-old Frenchman lands in the organization with a record of 23 wins and only two losses, in addition to a positive streak of five victories.

The former KSW featherweight and lightweight champion, a Frenchman, gained even more prominence after his knockout victory on the Netflix card and will now have the chance to prove his level against a lightweight veteran in his first fight in the octagon.
