Khabib's cousin, Usman Nurmagomedov, ended his contract with the PFL in great style. The Russian fighter defeated Archie Colgan by knockout in the first round last Friday (30), in the main fight of the event held in New York, maintained his undefeated record and took another step towards consolidating his name among the top athletes in the lightweight category (up to 70,3kg).

After the victory, Usman received high praise from Khabib Nurmagomedov himself . The former UFC champion highlighted the athlete's evolution over the past few years and stated that performance speaks louder than any words. For the MMA legend, the champion has already proven that he belongs at the highest level of the sport.

“Usman has shown and proven in recent years that he is the best lightweight outside of the UFC. Not with words, but with his performances. When I said in 2020 that Islam was the best at the time, many people disagreed,” Khabib revealed on his Instagram.

“Believe me, folks, there are levels in this sport. You’ll see for yourselves what happens next. There will be negotiations next month and, very soon, you’ll find out which league he’ll continue competing in,” the UFC legend concluded.

With his contract expired, Usman Nurmagomedov 's future has become one of the most talked-about topics behind the scenes in MMA. Undefeated in his professional career, with 22 wins and one no contest, the Russian is now evaluating his next steps and could become one of the main players on the international market.
