The MMA world was impressed by Michael PQD 's great debut at UFC Belgrade last Saturday (1). In less than two minutes, the Rio native knocked out Oban Elliott and extended his undefeated record to ten wins, nine of which were by knockout. Amid the excitement, Jon Anik, the Ultimate's official commentator, even defined the fighter as a future promise of Brazilian MMA. Despite already having a reputation as a great knockout artist, thanks to his successful time in Glory Kickboxing, Poatan was quick to showcase his skills in the world's most famous octagon in his first fight for the company. Still on the preliminary card of UFC 268 , the São Paulo native faced Greek fighter Andreas Michailidis in a middleweight bout (up to 83,9 kg).

The first round turned out to be complicated for Índio Pataxó, who was taken down and controlled against the cage by his opponent. Despite the adverse situation, he recovered in the following round. With only 18 seconds left, he landed a powerful flying knee that knocked his opponent out and began one of the most successful comebacks of all time.

Despite not having a victory with the same visual flair as Poatan, PQD won much more quickly. After scoring a knockdown with a simple jab in the opening seconds, the former member of the Brazilian armed forces took Oban Elliott to the ground with a jab-straight combination, finishing the fight in just 99 seconds. At only 28 years old, the sky's the limit for the newest knockout artist in the welterweight division (up to 77,1 kg).
