Conor McGregor revealed on Monday (August 3rd) that he will undergo another surgery soon. In a post published on Instagram, the former UFC champion confirmed that he will undergo the fifth medical procedure of his career and expressed confidence in facing another stage of the recovery process.

The new surgery comes just weeks after his defeat to Max Holloway at UFC 329 , held in July (11). On that occasion, McGregor suffered a serious knee injury in the early moments of the fight and ended up being defeated by technical knockout. Subsequent examinations revealed a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), which forced the Irishman to begin a new period of treatment.

"Well, folks, here we go again! My fifth surgery is coming up today! All things considered, it's a pretty manageable number! Let's go, we can handle this!", wrote Conor McGregor on his Instagram.

The fighter appeared in good spirits when commenting on this new phase and reinforced that he intends to face the challenge in the same way he overcame other difficult moments throughout his MMA career. Even after the serious injury suffered against the Hawaiian, McGregor maintains his stance that he intends to return to the octagon.

Since then, the former UFC featherweight (up to 65,7 kg) and lightweight (up to 70,3 kg) champion has been using social media to share details of his treatment. Although there is still no set date for his return, the Irish star assures that he remains motivated and is not thinking about retirement.
