Quillan Salkilld showed that he is ready for bigger things in the UFC. In the main event of UFC Vegas 120 , held this Saturday (8), the Australian made short work of Mateusz Gamrot and shone in the octagon. Classified as the favorite by the bookmakers, the athlete was dominant and finished the Pole in the first round via rear-naked choke.
In this way, Salkilld achieved the biggest victory of his career and justified his hype in the UFC. More than that, the athlete proved that he deserves to be seen not only as a promising MMA fighter, but as a real threat to the top lightweight contenders. Undefeated in the organization, the Australian, ranked ninth, should take over Gamrot's sixth place.

A striking specialist, Salkilld relied on kicks at the start of the fight. In turn, Gamrot focused on punches. Quickly, Salkilld rocked Gamrot with a precise cross. On the ground, Gamrot, a grappling specialist, attempted a knee lock, but was unsuccessful.
While defending himself, Salkilld gained even more confidence and landed powerful punches on Gamrot, who began to bleed. Surprisingly, Salkilld took Gamrot down. Gamrot tried to reverse the position, but Salkilld controlled him and submitted him with a rear-naked choke.
