Apparently, Brazil has a new promise in the Ultimate. A protégé of Pedro Rizzo, Lucas Fernando put on a show and knocked out Rafael Bipolar in the third preliminary fight of UFC 330 , valid for the light heavyweight category (up to 93 kg), on Saturday night (15). With the result, the former LFA champion debuted with a bang in the biggest MMA organization on the planet, reaching his fourth consecutive victory as a professional.

Very calm, the two fighters quickly showed their aggression. Better on his feet, Fernando cornered his opponent against the cage and began connecting good combinations of punches to the face and low kicks, clearly cornering Tobias. The pace of the fight cooled down a bit, but whenever Lucas sought contact, he managed to land a blow on his rival. After more than four minutes of suffering on his feet, the Bipolar fighter managed to take the fight to the ground after catching a kick from his opponent, but he couldn't convert the position into damage. Thus, the first round ended very favorably for Lucas Fernando.
Pedro Rizzo's pupil returned for the second round determined to punish his rival with leg kicks, subsequently achieving a knockdown with a jab. From there, he cornered his compatriot against the cage and adopted a very aggressive stance, even attempting a high kick, which was partially blocked. By the end of the second round, Fernando was clearly in control.
The pace remained similar in the third round, but Fernando's main attack was yet to come. Showing a very high level in striking, he landed a powerful knee strike to Bipolar's midsection, taking him to the ground and forcing referee Keith Peterson to stop the fight at one minute and ten seconds of the third round. In the post-fight interview with Joe Rogan inside the octagon, he announced that the Ruas Vale Tudo team is back in the UFC.

In the second preliminary bout, Neil Magny once again demonstrated his high level of skill, defeating Ramiz Brahimaj by technical knockout in the second round in a welterweight (up to 77,1 kg) bout. At 39 years old, the American recovered from his loss to Yaroslav Amosov at the end of last year and added another name to his victorious record, one of the longest in recent history.
After quick exchanges of striking combinations, with good moments for both fighters, Brahimaj had no difficulty taking the veteran to the ground and transitioning to mount. Despite controlling his opponent, Ramiz clearly became fatigued during the grappling exchanges. He tried to repeat the strategy in the following round, but ended up being swept and feeling the effects of a knee to the midsection against the cage, sealing Magny's victory at three minutes and 20 seconds.

In the first fight of the night, Jeremiah Wells surprised everyone by submitting Myktybek Orolbai with a perfect guillotine choke in the third round, in a welterweight bout (up to 77,1 kg). With this result, the home fighter became the first to defeat the Kyrgyz fighter in the division, and now has two consecutive wins in the world's largest MMA organization.
More explosive, the American was successful on his feet, stunning his rival with strong cross punches, forcing Orolbai to attempt a takedown. On the ground, the duel took a completely different turn, with the Kyrgyz controlling his opponent and landing strong ground and pound strikes. He repeated the strategy in the following round, and both fighters returned for the third round knowing that Wells needed to stop the fight to win, and that's exactly what he did.
After landing a powerful right punch while standing, Wells saw his opponent once again attempting a takedown. At this moment, he locked in a precise guillotine choke, leaving Orolbai unconscious and forcing the referee to stop the fight when the clock showed one minute and 24 seconds of the third round.
