Just like Dana White, Islam Makhachev also found Ian Machado Garry 's behavior strange during the main fight of UFC 330. At the event held last Saturday (15), in Philadelphia (USA), the welterweight champion (up to 77,1 kg) defeated the Irishman via unanimous decision and thus defended the title for the first time. And, according to the Russian, his opponent 'made it easy' for him to win.

In the post- UFC 330 press conference , Makhachev criticized the excessive respect that Machado Garry showed him in the octagon. In fact, during the fight, the Irishman constantly sought to interact with the champion and, at the end of the rounds, wanted to touch gloves and hug him.

Annoyed by the athlete's attitude, Dana stressed that he lacked 'killer instinct' . The Russian, who also respects his opponents, defends the idea that there shouldn't be excessive fair play during the fight and, precisely for that reason, admitted that he was surprised by Machado Garry's behavior.

“Honestly, I didn’t understand. This is fighting. It’s not something where we have to be hugging each other every round. We go to war, to break each other’s faces. That’s why I respect all my opponents, but Garry, I don’t know. He’s too respectful,” he said.

“I respect him. He’s a nice guy, very kind, but this is war. Look at my face. I fight to beat everyone, in every way. This is not something to joke about. This is a fight, not a game,” he concluded.
