Islam Makhachev did not appreciate Max Holloway 's criticism after his victory at UFC 330 , held last Saturday (15). On that occasion, the Russian defeated Ian Machado Garry and celebrated his first title defense in the welterweight division (up to 77 kg) by raising the two belts he has already won in the Ultimate. The attitude was mocked by the Hawaiian , who reminded him that Makhachev is no longer the lightweight champion (up to 70,3 kg).
In a social media response, Makhachev countered Holloway's provocation with irony. The Russian downplayed the importance of the belts and took the opportunity to take a jab at the former champion, suggesting that he lacked the knowledge to understand the situation.
