Paulo Borrachinha believes that the UFC is taking steps backward and wasting great opportunities with the possible removal of Dana White from the organization's main decision-making. After entering the world of boxing with Zuffa Boxing, the Ultimate president, it seems, has dedicated himself more to the new project, something that, in the view of the fighter from Minas Gerais, ended up harming the matchmaking process of the world's largest MMA organization.
In an interview with Sexto Round, Paulo Borrachinha stated that Dana White's absence from major UFC decisions is felt within the organization. According to the Brazilian, the promotion has been making mistakes due to a lack of timing and more assertive decisions when defining upcoming fights.

The Brazilian also revealed his dissatisfaction with the negotiations for his next UFC fight. Borrachinha believes he could be competing for the interim light heavyweight title (up to 93 kg) if he accepted conditions he considers unfavorable, such as receiving less than he believes he deserves and being undervalued by the organization.
Despite this, the fighter from Minas Gerais made it clear that he does not intend to accept this type of situation just to secure a title shot. He also highlighted that he knows UFC champions who receive lower pay than he does, reinforcing his position in negotiations with the organization.
“If I said, ‘Okay, I don’t mind being stuck, being undervalued, and receiving less than I deserve,’ I’d probably be fighting for the interim belt right now. But I think that would be a mistake. I know UFC champions who earn half of what I earn,” the Brazilian concluded.
