Song Yadong had a unique experience at UFC Shanghai . Last Saturday (29), the Chinese fighter shocked the world by knocking out Umar Nurmagomedov in the main event, thus achieving the biggest victory of his career. Following this, the home athlete became involved in a controversy with Usman Nurmagomedov and has now surprised everyone by giving his version of events.

Luckily, the bad boy himself stopped the movement, preventing the worst from happening at UFC Shanghai , but he received numerous criticisms from fans and MMA professionals for his action. Even Dana White disapproved of Usman's attitude . On the other hand, the Chinese fighter downplayed the controversy and stressed that the PFL star only wanted to help his brother, who was unconscious in the octagon.

“I completely understand his feelings. His brother was knocked out, and then I was still punching him. If I were him, I’d probably do the same thing. I don’t think he came in to attack me. I think he was just surprised because I ran towards him. He was defending himself and reacting,” said the UFC star.

“He wasn’t trying to attack me. He’s a very professional fighter and they’re a very good team. I admire them. I don’t think it was anything personal. I didn’t see it as an attack on me, it was just a reaction. I think people are exaggerating. No hard feelings,” he concluded.
