Interim heavyweight champion (up to 120,2 kg), Ciryl Gane , is already planning his next steps in MMA. After securing a high-impact victory over Alex Poatan at UFC Casa Branca in June of this year, the Frenchman is evaluating different possibilities to continue his career in the organization.
In an interview with RMC Sports Combat, available this Friday (4) on X (formerly Twitter), Gane made it clear that he already has a defined priority for the future. The fighter also revealed a second alternative in case his initial plans cannot be realized.

“We don’t want to be caught off guard again; it happened against Jon Jones , life teaches us lessons. We have the experience to say: ‘If it’s Aspinall, it’s not him.’ So, we’re going to focus on him, and if it’s not him, it will be someone else. We’re not sure if we’ll get a rematch against Aspinall, but we really want it. We’re focused on Aspinall, but if it’s someone else, I’d like Aspinall or a rematch against Pereira ( Alex Poatan ),” said Ciryl Gane.
The 'Good Boy's' main goal is to face Tom Aspinall again . The athlete doesn't yet know if he'll have the opportunity to fight for the belt against the Briton again, but he hopes the organization will schedule the fight and is working with that possibility as his next big challenge in the heavyweight division.
Despite prioritizing Aspinall, the Frenchman also has an alternative in case the rematch with the Briton doesn't happen. The Frenchman cited a rematch against Alex Poatan as his second wish, keeping open the possibility of facing the Brazilian again after the knockout at UFC Casa Branca.
