Paulo Borrachinha believes he could have been scheduled for the main event of UFC 332, set for October 3rd, but his suggestion was rejected by the organization. After Valentina Shevchenko 's injury , the fighter from Minas Gerais proposed that the event be saved with a fight for the interim light heavyweight title (up to 93 kg). The UFC, however, took a different approach and announced Natalia Silva against Wang Cong for the flyweight title (up to 56,7 kg).
In a post on X, Paulo Borrachinha revealed that he had presented the possibility to the organization, but his request was not granted. According to the Brazilian, the UFC chose not to put the interim light heavyweight title on the line in the fight he had suggested.
