Gilbert Burns will have the opportunity to face Khamzat Chimaev again , four years after their first UFC fight. The rematch, this time in wrestling, is scheduled for September 18th at RAF 13 in Miami (USA), and will be the co-main event. Despite acknowledging the importance of the fight, the Brazilian made it clear that he also sees financial and visibility advantages in the new encounter with 'The Wolf'.
In an interview with the YouTube channel 'Sexto Round', available last Sunday (6), Durinho explained the reasons that led him to accept the fight and revealed that he received a contract considered very advantageous. The black belt also highlighted the potential of a new fight against Chimaev.

“Financially it makes a lot of sense, for the rematch. He’s a very well-known guy, he gives me a crazy hype. I have two more fights, they gave me a very good contract. I’m going to go all out, to put on a show. It’s going to be a tough fight, a rematch will happen soon and now we’re going to BJJ. I’m going there to frustrate him,” declared Gilbert Durinho.
The rematch will be held under wrestling rules and will mark Durinho's debut in RAF. Chimaev, on the other hand, already has recent experience in the organization . Before facing the Brazilian, the Chechen faced Tyron Woodley at RAF Moscow, last Saturday (5), and dominated the former UFC welterweight champion (up to 77,1 kg), achieving victory by pin in just 94 seconds.

Khamzat Chimaev , 32, is considered one of the most talented athletes of the new generation and one of the most dangerous names in the middleweight division. Known for his combination of high-level wrestling, physical strength, and extremely aggressive style, the Chechen quickly gained prominence in the organization for the dominance he imposed on his opponents and his ability to control fights on the ground.
The athlete began his professional MMA career in 2018 and made his UFC debut in 2020. Throughout his career, Chimaev built a record marked by major victories over names such as Gilbert Burns , Kevin Holland , Kamaru Usman , Robert Whittaker , and Dricus Du Plessis.
Despite a dazzling start, the fighter suffered his first defeat against Sean Strickland in May, a result that highlighted the need for adjustments to his strategy and pace management during fights. He has 15 wins and one loss in his career.
Even with the defeat, Chimaev continues to be considered one of the most complete fighters on the roster. With a game based on takedowns, constant pressure, and great finishing ability, the Chechen seeks to regain his place among the top names in the division and prove that he can still reach the top of the organization.
