Caio Borralho may be close to having his next fight confirmed by the UFC. The Brazilian, who is back after a period away due to injury , has reportedly reached a verbal agreement to face Khamzat Chimaev in a duel that could put him on the path to the middleweight title (up to 83,9 kg). According to Pablo Sucupira, the athlete's main coach, negotiations with the organization have progressed in recent days.

In an interview with Sexto Round, Sucupira revealed that, although the fight is not yet officially confirmed, Borralho's team has been contacted by the UFC and believes that the Brazilian is among three possible names for the next fight. Besides Chimaev, Dricus Du Plessis and Joe Pyfer are also reportedly being considered by the organization.

"He should fight in November or December... It's not settled. But we've had some good calls. I believe the name is one of these three: Dricus, Chimaev, or Joe Piffer," said Pablo Sucupira.

The coach also indicated that Chimaev appears to be the most likely option at this time. According to Sucupira, the fact that the UFC contacted the Russian's team is a strong indication that the parties are working to make the fight happen, which could be officially announced in the coming days.

"I imagine so, (it's Chimaev)... Because they (the UFC) were going to meet Chimaev's team and I imagine that next week we won't have that gift anymore," the coach concluded.

Caio Borralho is on a collision course with Khamzat Chimaev in the UFC.

After losing to Nassourdine Imavov , Caio Borralho has bounced back and can now take an important step towards the middleweight title (up to 83,9 kg). The Brazilian returned to the win column by defeating Reinier de Ridder at UFC 326 in April 2026, and has reached a verbal agreement to face Khamzat Chimaev , former champion of the category.
