Owner of the UFC welterweight belt (up to 77,1 kg) and current leader of the Ultimate's pound-for-pound ranking, Islam Makhachev has been finding curious ways to show himself as the People's Champion. In a video published on social media last Tuesday (8), the Russian was seen distributing money to children in Dagestan, in the style of Silvio Santos.

The video was posted on the official Instagram account of fighter Magomed Shahbanov, Makhachev's training partner and another athlete trained by Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, Khabib's father, who passed away during the Covid-19 pandemic.

In the video, recorded from inside his car, the champion distributes Russian ruble bills to the boys, who calmly take the gifts. As a joke, Islam even pretends to hand over a $100 bill, generating laughter from everyone present. Despite having reached the top of the MMA world, the athlete continues to live in Dagestan.
