After two consecutive victories at Sengoku, the Rio de Janeiro native Leonard Santos will fight again at the event on the 30th. The Nova União athlete will face the Venezuelan Maximum white at Sengoku 15, which will be held in Japan. The winner of this fight will become a strong candidate to compete for the event's lightweight belt, which is currently vacant.

Santos has a record of eight wins and three losses in MMA, having emerged onto the world stage after winning four consecutive victories at Shooto Brasil between 2008 and 2009. In his last fight he defeated the Japanese Sotaro Yamada at Sengoku 14, held last July, by disqualification due to his opponent kneeing him while he was on the ground.
