“(I'm) in negotiations with Ultimate about being a reserve fighter, in case someone from the fight leaves. I talked about negotiations with the UFC and we'll see. I want to take advantage of this and be ready to be that guy who will wait until the end for that chance,” said Prochazka in an interview with 'Fanatics View'.
With two fights in the company, Prochazka caught attention in the MMA world by knocking out Volkan oezdemir e Dominick reyes, being the last one in UFC Las Vegas 25 with a spinning elbow. The Czech knocked out 24 of the 27 fights in his career. He also has three defeats and a draw.
Glover Teixeira will have his second opportunity to challenge for the light heavyweight belt. Riding on five consecutive victories, the 41-year-old fighter is currently number one in the category's ranking. Blachowicz will now be defending his belt for the second time. After starting his reign with the knockout over Dominick reyes in September 2020, the Pole retained his title after defeating Israel adesanya in March of this year.
